Zagreb’s hosting legacy and experience in EUSA Competitions

By hosting the European Universities Rowing Championship once again in 2026, Zagreb continues to demonstrate its status as one of EUSA’s most experienced and trusted event cities.

Over the past several years, the city has successfully delivered multiple major EUSA events, each marked by professionalism, hospitality, and strong organisational capacity. These include the European Universities Combat Championships 2023, the highly praised European Universities Rowing Championship 2024, and most recently, the European University Futsal Championship 2025. Each of these events showcased Zagreb’s ability to coordinate complex competitions while providing a welcoming and supportive environment for student-athletes.

In 2026, the championship will return to Lake Jarun, a venue recognised for its excellent racing conditions and longstanding rowing tradition. Building on the experience from the 2024 edition—which received outstanding feedback from athletes and officials—the 2026 Organising Committee aims to deliver another top-level event for the European university rowing community.

Zagreb’s proven track record, quality sports infrastructure, and dedicated volunteer network continue to make it a natural choice for hosting major events under the European University Sports Association.
