The first teams have arrived

The countdown is almost over — the first teams have arrived in Zagreb!

Day 0 brought the first wave of athletes and team officials to the championship, with accreditation, check-ins and plenty of familiar faces meeting for the first time. Smiles were everywhere as teams settled into their accommodation and got ready for the days ahead.

And for some, the waiting was already over. The first crews took to Lake Jarun today, getting their first feel for the course and completing their opening training sessions ahead of race day.

The boats are on the water, the teams are here and the excitement is building. The European Universities Rowing Championship is almost ready to begin.
